This study aims at checking whether teachers’ needs and expectations from learning English through the course provided at the ENS were satisfied. After administering a questionnaire to full-time teachers at the ENS Assia Djebbar, 16 teachers responded. The respondents reported that despite the fact that the English course contained what they expected it to include, their needs related
to teaching their respective disciplines and carrying out research were not fulfilled and that the course did not match their expectations. As a result, radical reforms have to be operated to make the English course professionally and academically beneficial.
