Understanding the Operative Activity in Teaching the Arabic Language in Algeria and The total Audiovisual Method (S.G.A.V)

Abstract

The activity of understanding the utterance is among the educational activities that have created a place for it in the programs of teaching the Arabic language in Algeria.  The technological development has given the opportunity to achieve a quantum leap in the means of education, especially in the production of images and the control of its display, and in the monitoring and drawing of the sound, all of which have been introduced into the educational process through the method Total Audiovisual (S.G.A.V). In light of the relationship between this method and the activity of understanding the utterance in the principles and objectives, investing its principles in achieving it may make it an effective activity in cognitive achievement and linguistic acquisition. This is the main focus of the present paper which deals with analyzing the principles of the method (S.G.A.V) and the targeted activity, and that will be an answer to the extent of which the functionality of exploiting the principles of this method in achieving the activity of understanding the utterance in the Algerian school.
