How to rethink the Library space in the Ecoles Normales Supérieures?
Abstract
As specialized training structures, the Ecoles Normales Supérieures (ENS) shouldpromote the emergence of a self-training environment in addition to initial training by setting up resource centers considered as places of training for the “new” student, places of development and promotion in the teaching and professional training in new information and communication technologies (ICT), welcoming places that meet the needs of ENS students, teachers of tomorrow. The challenge of using the resource center is to encourage students to develop learning processes and their own research methodology. The new educational environment should be designed so that the notion of self-study is acquired by the student, that teachers and librarians are mediators in self-study, that the new orientation of these schools is an orientation towards self-learning.
