Abstract

The emergence of the novel in Algeria had a significant impact compared to the Arab world, especially in stimulating narrative activity in Algeria, particularly in the early seventies, the "construction and building phase," despite the scarcity of Algerian writers with an Arab orientation, among whom was Abdelhamid Ben Hadouga with his novel (South Wind), which is considered the real starting of the Arabic novel, as it addressed a sensitive period in Algerian history and attracted the attention of many critics, such as Omar Ibn Kina whoo took it as a space for Socio-cultural  criticism and analysis.
