It employs a historical-analytical methodology, tracking interactions by critics such as Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd, Mohammed Meftah, and Bushra Moussa Saleh with concepts like the "implied reader" and "horizon of expectation”.

Central questions address how Arab critics assimilated Western Reception Theory and applied it within an interpretive environment favoring guided reading.
