Yumna Al-Eid’s Critical Approach to Ghaleb Halasa’s Novel “The Question”

Abstract

Literary criticism has remained the most targeted field in literary studies, as it reveals what is unspoken in artistic works, which are shaped by human thought and imagination. Art is considered a dynamic field in which humans express their ideas influenced by religious, political, economic, philosophical, and other backgrounds. 
Criticism has engaged with these fields and sought to interpret them; as a result,critical approaches examining literature have diversified, ranging from contextual approaches (historical-psychological-social) to systematic approaches (structuralformal  structural-structural-generative structural-discursive-semiotic, and others).
Our study explores the method used in the critical analysis of Yumna Al-Eid, through her reading of the novel "The Question" by Ghaleb Halasa. Our work also falls within the framework of criticism of criticism, and it is worth noting that we employ descriptive and analytical techniques.
