Abstract

The Quranic story represents as much as nearly an entire quarter of the totality of the Qur’anic text volume. This outstanding trait has rendered it a focus of interest for scholars adhering to a plethora of intellectual orientations, whether they be religious exegesis or artistic literary. Their various undertakings have far more areas of divergence than those of convergence, especially those related to the issue of the realism of the Qur’anic stories and their imagination. This issue has truly given rise to a great deal of disagreement and controversy amongst scholars across the centuries. Some of these studies were logical and objective, whilst some were entirely against sound Islamic thinking and rational reasoning. By the latter we specifically refer to the studies carried out by of orientalists and some Western Arabs. We say without hesitation: Does it stand to reason that a quarter of the Holy Qur’an- the constitution of both this worldly life and the hereafter- is imaginary? It is self-evident that the only existing acceptable answer for this question is unquestionably a categorical no. An objective methodological study, however, must be premised upon presenting a compelling argument and clear evidence.  I, therefore, opted for the dissection of the Qur’anic story into its basic constituents as a way from and into it and an explanation of its realism. Thus, the event, the characters, the time, and the place were a reality transmitted without history or imagination via the medium of a language that reached the imagination of use without the imagination of thought or the myth of authorship. It, by the same token, encompasses educational and moral dimensions it that unambiguously demonstrate the reality of the Qur’anic story and the miracle of its language, with which it has reached the imagination of usage.
