The Importance of Heritage in Embodying Values in the Arabic Novel Text: “To Reassure my Heart by Adham Sharkawy” - a model

Abstract

The study seeks to reveal the importance of cultural heritage in symbolising human values in the Arabic novels by the novelist Adham Sharkawy in his novel “To Reassure My Heart” based on his employment of multi-source heritage texts including literary, religious, jurisprudential, and cultural traditions. Creativity in the narrative discourse was investigated through the use of description and analysis as a procedure in this study seeking to answer questions, including: What is heritage? And its relationship to values? Did the novel succeed in demonstrating the importance of heritage by adopting traditional employment?
