Abstract

The semiotic approach is a descriptive discourse which function is to search for the signifying semiotic systems at their linguistic and non-linguistic levels, such as the various sign systems according to the critical schools. This study examines the problem of semiotics and its relationship to the cultural system, through the search for meaning, its identity and its existence, bearing in mind that semiotics is an open knowledge activity capable of approaching these systems and revealing the mechanisms of their operation. On the other hand, the aim of semiotics is not to search for meaning and specify it, but to trace the traces of its formation in the practice itself.
