Abstract

Perhaps the advance of awareness, intellectual and cultural maturity, and the understanding of contemporary poets of the society’s movement coupled with his/her knowledge of history endow the contemporary Arab poets with a tremendous cognitive energy that they breathe in their poetry. Thus, the poet can transcend the intellectual vision of art and reality, to a vision that grants them the ability to uncover, predict and anticipate the future. Vision, in this respect, is an important component of contemporary poetry, and one of the means through which to realize its essence and reveal meanings. To this end, the study seeks to delve into Adonis's poem “Ayaam al-Saqr” Days of the Falcon, where we have attempted to present a clear concept of Adonis's vision and trace its connotations, implications and representations through the texts.
