Abstract

This article seeks to highlight the aesthetic components of the contemporary Algerian novelist discourse, which tried to monitor the social, political and historical conditions and the civilizational transformations that resulted from them. This is done  through the study of the novel "The Candle and the Vestibules" by Tahar Wattar, who tried to monitor the situation of the intellectual and his image after the 1991 crisis, and what resulted in consequences.
