Semantics of the title in the Algerian fictional text

Abstract

This article seeks to study titling as a textual threshold and a linguistic sign in the Algerian novel and to show how poetic the titles are, and their close relationship with the actual political context which gave rise to them. The study examines titles of novels from the post-independence period up to the year 2000, divided into two phases: from the early 1960s to 1986, and from 1987 to 2000, with the major aim of relating the titles to the political context.
