The translated term and its problems In dictionaries of Arabic narratives
Abstract
This study seeks to develop the problematic of the concept of “narrative” through equivalent terms suggested by dictionaries of Arabic narratology. This endeavor is based on the idea that what has been proposed by compilers of dictionaries shows many dissimilarities which are dictated by the contextuality of each dictionary. Translated dictionaries tend to stick to the original language but compiled ones, i.e., the s created from scratch offer alternatives some of which are the fruit of practical grappling with concepts.
