Abstract

The article deals with an aspect of Moroccan popular literature and especially in what is called malhoun which is sung poetry and it has been very popular in Morocco for several centuries. We made a presentation of its different aspects as well as the instruments used. These songs use Arabic as an instrument of expression. This is the case of zajel which is a popular poetry of expression known by several names including malhoun which is the subject of our article. Then, we talked about the main followers of this genre, its origins and its objects, the most important of which is the theme of love which includes several types among others: love between men and women which constitutes the framework of our research. The most important thing was to do a semantic analysis of the theme of love in two qsida “Fatma” and “khalkhal ouwicha” and we emerged; platonic love and reciprocated love.
