This study aims to explore the role of interdisciplinary approaches in the construction of linguistic evidence within historical lexicography, using the Sharjah Historical Dictionary as a case study. It adopts an analytical methodology to offer a critical reading of the dictionary's corpus and textual sources. The research raises questions about the contribution of literary, historical, and linguistic perspectives to the development of evidence and their impact on the accuracy of linguistic historiography. It also investigates the criteria used for selecting and documenting linguistic citations in this emerging work.
