The study analyzes the narration of Palestinian identity in Fathiyya Mahmoud Al-Bate's novel "Farewell to the Authentic" as a model of resistance literature.
It employs a semiotic-analytical methodology, tracing narrative structures and characters (Walid, Shukri Bey) alongside binaries (resistance/betrayal, identity /alienation).
Central questions address mechanisms of identity formation through language and heritage amid occupation, and narrative's role in documenting the uprising (1936-1947).
It also examines the novel's interplay with Palestinian history and culture to enhance humanistic and national dimensions.
