Employing poetic evidence when interpreters of the Holy Quran

Abstract

This research aims to shed light on a phenomenon observed in the ancient literature,which is represented by the intense presence of poetic evidence, especially in the books of the interpretation of the Holy Qur’an. The extent to which these scholars relate to poetry and how they employ it in the service of the Qur’anic text. From this came the idea of studying a model of contemporary commentators (Al-Shanqeeti) to note the extent of difference and congruence in employing poetic evidence.
