Islamic Feminism: Between Rejection and Acceptance

Abstract

Islamic feminism occupies an important space –politically, socially and religiouslyin contemporary Arab and Islamic thought in various parts of the world. As a modern  term and concept, it has raised a lot of controversy since its introduction at the UNESCO conference where it was rejected, opposed and considered a trend of Western feminism while its affiliates defended it. Our research aims to discuss the connotations of this term and the most important problems that have arisen from it;
Then, the reactions to it are explained as a significant number of scholars rejected it and sometimes even disapproved it.
