Abstract

AN abstract is This study aims to identify the level of self-esteem in mothers of people with special needs who are included in some centers that take care of people with special needs in the state of Ghardaia. It also intends to reveal the impact of disability type variable (mental disability, autism spectrum) on the level of assessment. The study sample consisted of )138( mothers of people with special needs who are included in some special centers around Ghardaia. Furthermore, the self-esteem scale that is designed for this study was applied and the statistical analysis demonstrates that the level of self-esteem among the sample members is low; as the results of the study shows that there are no statistically significant differences in the level of Self-esteem in mothers according to the type of disability (mental disability, autism spectrum). Last but not least, the results were discussed relying on the theoretical heritage and the previous studies.
