Explanation of Ashmouni evidence on the millennium of Ibn Malik, by Sheikh Abd al-Salam al-Sultani Algerian

Abstract

This study aims to introduce one of the Algerian scholars, Sheikh Abd al-Salam al-Sultani, through his explanation of the evidence of Al-Ashmouni called "Fath Al-Malik in explaining the evidence of the path of the traveler." This explanation gains its importance from its attachment to the value of Al-Ashmouni’s commentary on Ibn Malik’s Alfiya, as Al-Ashmouni’s book was and still finds favor and acceptance among scholars and researchers more than any other commentary on Al-Alfiya. Hence, the questions that the study aspires to answer are summarized as follows: Who is Sheikh Abd al-Salam, what is his approach to explanation, and what does his personality look like?
