Family Psychological Support and Its Relationship to Anxiety with Corona Virus Infection Among a Sample of Adolescents in Al-Mafraq Governorate

Abstract

The study aims to identify the level of family psychosocial support and ant its relationship to anxiety of corona virus infection among a sample of adolescents in Al-Mafraq Governorate. The study sample consisted of (600) adolescents who were selected using a convenient sampling technique. To achieve the study aims, a psychological support and a Corona virus anxiety scales were built. The results of the study show that the level of family psychological support and the level of anxiety of infection with the Corona virus were average. The results also indicate that there were no statistically significant differences in the level of family psychological support due to the gender variable. However, there were statistically significant differences due to the place of residence in favor of village residency, and the presence of differences due to family income in favor of 500 dinars or less. Furthermore, the results show that there were statistically significant differences in the level of anxiety of coronavirus infection due to the gender variable in favor of females, due to the place of residence in favor of village residency, and due to due to family income in favor of more than 500 dinars. Finally, the results indicate a positive relationship between Anxiety of Corona Virus infection and both the recreational cultural, and religious awareness dimensions, as well as, a negative relationship between Anxiety of Corona Virus infection and the health and medical dimension.
