Royal title interpretation In the novel “Gate of the Sun” by Eyas Khoury

Abstract

The present study sheds the light on Ilias Khouri's novel ‘Beb El Chems’ through a semiotic and interpretative approach based on Gerard Genette's theoretical quotations on the thresholds and inspired by the practical ideas of Pearce and Amberto Eco. The study opens up many interpretative perspectives on the title, starting from the linguistic structure and opening up on significant probabilities that can be linked to other thresholds.
