Alienation in Mai Ziadeh's literature

Abstract

Alienation in the literature of Mai Ziada.  Alienation constitutes a central obsession in Mai Ziada’s literature. A group of factors has contributed in the formulation of this configuration that left a clear mark in her creativity footprints. Truly, her life and her productions constitute a fertile field for the discovery of the role and importance of the psychological aspect that might guide the writer, and how this aspect of the human self’s sensitivity and suffering casts its shadows on the literary perceptions and attitudes.

This approach aims to follow up and monitor the sense of alienation in the literature of Mai Ziada through the discussion of aspects related to spatial, psychological and intellectual alienation through some models that were indicators of this pioneering female experience in modern Arabic literature
