Obstacles to scientific research - doctoral research as an example -

Abstract

This article presents a field study regarding the impediments of scientific research: PhD research as a case study. The field study was conducted at the department of Sociology -University of Abd Alhamid  Mahri, Constantine 2. The study is based on a main question “What are the impediments hindering PhD preparation in the Sociology Department?” and relies on the hypotheses that there may be personal, material, and administrative constraints to achievement of Doctorate research projects. The study relies on a random sample of 71 students, and the results show that, there are administrative constraints, personal constraints inherent to the student and supervisor, and material constraints.
