Abstract

This study attempts to present a new historical reading concerning Emir Abdelkader in which we relied on a verbal historical reference, Princess Badiâ El-Hasani, the granddaughter of Emir Abdelkader, currently alive. This study deals with the importance of the Emir in the memory of his granddaughter, who believes that it is necessary to review certain historical falsifications concerning the Emir, which have become certainties in the common Algerian memory. It is hoped that the corrections made by the Princess, supported by scientific evidence and historical citations, will contribute to a healthy rewriting of the Emir's biography.
