The Arabic language: its flexibility and ability to perform
Abstract
This article is a defence of Arabic in terms of flexibility, accuracy, efficiency, eloquence and richness in four main areas: phonology, lexis, syntax, and declension. It aims to reveal the capacity of Arabic for expression and communication of meaning, and the hidden communicative energy in the afore mentioned areas. The article also shows that Arabic is still able to regain the privileged position of language of learning which it enjoyed at the height of the Arab-Islamic should its speakers and users provide the appropriate atmosphere for such a revival.
