Education and elite formation in Algeria at the beginning of the twentieth century

Abstract

This article highlights the situation of Algerian society with regard to Arabic education, as well as its clashes with the colonial school. The first beginnings of the Algerian elite were marked by the effects of the colonial school, although the possibilities of attending it were limited throughout this period.
