The problem of Arab cultural awareness A semiotic approach to structural systems In the poem “The Earth Did Not Fall” by Muhammad Al-Fitouri
Abstract
This article attempts to shed light on the poet Mohammed El-Fitouri's sense of Arab belonging. The article therefore calls on the elements of poetic structure in their multiple relationships, and identifies the central binary oppositions. The approach proceeds in the light of notions of semiotic structural criticism which treats the text as a structure containing relationships between signs within a multidimensional context: political, sociological, and historical.
