Linguistic variations and identity construction in « R.I au nom du père, du fils et du saint d’esprit » by Hakim Laalam

Abstract

This study analyzes Laalam’s dystopian novel "R.I au nom du père…", where language functions both as a tool of control and of resistance. From a critical sociolinguistic perspective, it examines the hierarchy of linguistic practices, French/Arabic alternation as an identity marker, and resistance strategies, revealing the performativity and memory at play in linguistic exchanges.
