Abstract

The oil producing African countries relied on oil revenues to finance their economies as can be seen in their ambitious investment programs. These revenues were used to build petroleum and chemical manufactured industries in these countries. In this sense, Algeria and Nigeria are leading nations in the use of oil wealth to realise economic development and integration which will enable them to reduce their Dependence on oil.
