The phenomenon of melody among the Arabs

Abstract

What is currently known as common mistakes, linguistic correction, linguistic correctness or the movement of language purification had the ancient name of "melody". Undoubtedly, the multitude of names indicates the honour attributed to the concept. Thus, the search in the heritage of melody among the ancients, whose purpose is to refer to the words and phrases that have appeared distorted by the public from what is Fasssih (fluent), is worth engaging in order to get acquainted with this heritage. This is confirmed by one of the authors who says: "The first thing that the student of language must do is correct the Arabic words that have been distorted by the public (common people), and have been used in ways  other than the ones Arabs used in their clubs and community. If corrected and any distortion removed from them, the effect would be closer and easier to demand.
