Letters of meaning between the origin of the situation and usage From the perspective of ancient and modern grammarians

Abstract

This article examines the way expose Arabic Grammarians treated Prepositions with regard to the following concerns.

- The variety of notions that Grammarians attach to prepositions.

- Grammarians’ disagreement about the alternance and diverse meanings of prepositions.

- The role of context in defining the meanings of prepositions.    

The latter element is illustrated by some examples of prepositions which are mentioned in ''Ibn Hichem El Ansari'' book, ''Moghni  Ellabib Fi Kutubi El Aarïb".
