The developmental path of the evaluation process in language instruction

Abstract

In this research, we attempt to address, even partially, the issue of evaluation, which is one of the important issues in the field of language education. The beginning is to trace the historical development of a group of terms represented in the following: training, testing, evaluation, and the modifications and innovations witnessed at the level of form, content, and structure. The course of research was also directed - to a large extent - towards removing the terminological confusion that afflicts the field of linguistic evaluation, which witnesses an overlap in concepts, and suffers from a lack of cognitive references, as well as reductionism, in terms of benefiting from its tools and procedures, unlike other fields included within the educational framework. Languages ​​and cultures, which have taken important steps towards renewal and development.
