Abstract

This is one of the numerous syntactic and morphological issues raised by
Abu Alalaa Almaari in his work "Rissalatu Al Ghofran" (the Message of
Forgiveness). He treated the question in his own particular way using both
a literary style and a scientific one. He used to select any point on which he
disagreed with others and made the hero of the Message of Forgiveness
raise it with poets and men of knowledge in the form of a literary and
artistic dialogue during his fictitious trip to the other world. In this
imaginary trip, the hero met with poets and linguists with whom he
discussed some problematic linguistic issues with a lot of scientific skill to
support the ideas of some and to refute those of others or to correct a
common grammatical mistake made by a poet or to criticize a poetic
narration.
