Résumé

This article examines the main purposes of poetry among the Kunta tribe in the Sahara Desert, particularly the purposes of pride, praise, and satire. The research aims to highlight the cultural and literary role of the Kunta poets in the region and to showcase their literary contributions in enriching the local linguistic and literary scene. The researcher relied on the descriptive-analytical method by collecting poetic samples and analyzing their contents and connotations, with reference to historical and literary sources about the tribe and its poets. Among the most prominent research questions: How did the cultural and religious role of the Kintis reflect in the themes of their poetry? And what are the specific characteristics that marked their poetry within the themes of pride, praise, and satire? He also inquires about the specificity of these themes in the African desert context compared to classical Arabic poetry.
