Abstract

The end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century were coupled with the concerted efforts of many researchers and critics in order to strive for the birth of a new thought and bring about many changes. By tracing the movement of critical thought, we find that it has gone through several different stages influenced by western literary ideas and critical visions. However, our focus was on the visions of critics of the formative structuralism school in modern Arab critic discourse. Consequently, the thought of this school prevailed over the ideas of our critics, and made them move towards the constructive literary text, and view it with a socio-argumentative view, on the basis of its closure on its textual components with the need to find a historical structure that explains it.
