The global model from the perspective of narrative semiotics

Abstract

This study, entitled "The Actantiel Model", deals with an old and new subject that combines language with literature, and criticism from a point of view of narrative semiotics, according to the Paris school. This work tries to highlight the theoretical system and the characteristics of semiotics in the heritage of the school of Paris as a doctrine. By summarizing the works of Propp and Souriau, Greimas has classified the characters according to a model of actanciel whose sole concern is to build a model more economical than that of Propp. We shall see here how this actanciel model of Greimas is composed.
