Why is our education system singularly defective?

Abstract

For some time now, our education system has been the subject of a great and lively debate within the educational community with the aim of reforming it. To this end, an entire ad hoc mega commission was established for a global reform of this system. Aware of the importance of the latter and convinced of the need for the involvement and contribution of all educators for the success of this enterprise, I provide here a critical look at some aspects of our education system in order to highlight the real causes of its failure, even its failure, to take them into account in the architecture of its new reform.
